Happy Holidays from Hanalei!
So I needed some justification for spending so much time documenting our awesome trip to Hawaii. This card seems to be all the affirmation I needed. Just look at that beautiful bay... maybe we will go back some day!

Helicopter Ride
Tuesday morning packed up to leave the Hanalei town on north shore of Kauai and go to Poipu Palms condos on the south side of the island, in Poipu. We took a walk on the Hanalei Beach and said goodbye to our introduction to life in Hawaii.
Then it was time to go on to the helicopter flight of a lifetime. One of the most exciting parts for me was to see the crescent shape of Hanalei Bay, and Hanalei Pier from the air. The numerous waterfalls in the canyon were incredible, but what would you expect from a place where rainfall averages 450 inches per year?

Snap Happy in Hananlei
November 6, 2011
Before we went on our walk Tom had taken these objects of interest:
While Tom went for a jog on the beach this morning I sauntered along the beach snapping pictures of things I thought were interesting such as these trimmed bushes.
Scultptured bushes |
Some beached sailboats that were beckoning me to give them my attention. |
This waterfall was also taken from my walk on the beach this morning. I think it was more visible today because we had so much rain during the night. |
These little flowering bushes grow along the edge of the beach. |
And here's Tom back from his jog. |
And then there's a separate post of the chickens... http://joansjoys.blogspot.com/2011/11/chickens-in-park.html |
Before we went on our walk Tom had taken these objects of interest:
Goldl Dust Croton |
Bougainvillea in the rain |
Bougainvillea bush next door |
Hammock |
